2 years + 7 months

Oh Declan B, our boo...could you be any more of a 2 year old little boy?  He is just so full of energy, imagination and surprise these days.  Declan No Sleep, as he has been called, no longer takes a nap!  Which means he is finally in bed and asleep before 10 pm, but also means he occasionally falls asleep (see above picture).  He loves to help me cook or bake, I think he just like to smell all of the ingredients and stand on a chair in the kitchen:)  Santa brought him a Mickey Mouse that now goes everywhere with him, along with puppy of course!  Speaking of Mickey Mouse...that's all he wants to watch, everyday and would watch it all day long if we let him.  He's been doing a great job of pooping in the potty, I think we're getting close to officially starting potty training (please keep your fingers crossed and say a little prayer for us...should be a fun time)!  Declan is so sweet when Conall goes to bed, he gives him a hug and kiss and tells him he loves him, now if he would only share and be nice to him during the day.  He's getting more independent everyday, which is awesome, but it takes a lot longer to get dressed or undressed around here:)  The ABC's are a favorite song of his along with Where is Thumpkin:)  He's always been a healthy eater, but it just keeps getting better.  We ask him what he wants for lunch..."turkey sandwich and cheese" and for dinner "chicken, noodles and broccoli".  Tonight he had 4 bowls of vegetables!  He loves cooked carrots:)  We can't believe he's on his way to 3, it's such a fun (and exhausting) time though...love you boo!

Little booger

Oh, Conall D we are just not ready for you to be this mobile!  We moved his crib mattress down to the next lower level now that he can pull himself up and the gate is going up by the stairs once again:)  Doesn't he look so proud of himself though?!

#2

No, not as in poop, but let me tell we've had a lot of it around here!  But #2 as in Conall now has 2 teeth!  Discovered the second one while he was gnawing on my fingers in church yesterday:)

It's about to get chaotic!

Conall is on his way to being a crawler!  He's only 6 1/2 months old, I'm not ready for this!  He's one determined little boo though:)  And Declan is getting an award for the Best Big Brother in a film!  What's really funny is that when Declan started to crawl he was crawling towards food too!  What can we say, these two like to eat:)

Stats:)

Declan and Conall had their well visits today (2 1/2 and 6 month) and we're happy to report that they are healthy and growing well!  Declan is 36 1/4 inches tall and weighs 30 lbs.  Conall is 26 inches long and tips the scale at 18 lbs 8 oz.  Both boo's had their shots, which was no fun for anyone involved, but after a few tears and screams are relaxing at home now:)

Holy Poop

Oh my goodness what a couple of poopy days I've had!  Or should I say Declan and Conall have had:)  We've been working with Declan on going poopy in the potty and it's going really well, mostly because he knows he gets white chocolate chips if he goes!  So the other day he said he had to go and we rushed into the bathroom and the got the potty seat all ready, sat him down and he told me to go away (the boy needs his privacy) and after I heard "I did it!" I came in to help him off and get him cleaned up, but after I lifted him off he took off running out of the bathroom and when I went to get him he had crawled up on the couch and by accident used one of our pillows as toilet paper!  Ahh!  That pillow went in the trash.
This morning as I was holding Conall he pooped, which he's been doing a lot of these days with his teeth coming in, no big deal I thought as we headed to his room to change him.  As I unzipped his sleep sack I felt something warm, but not on his back where the poop normally makes it way out, but on his leg.  I looked to find his whole leg covered in poop!  As I stripped him down for a bath, it was that bad that he needed a bath at 7:45 am, I realized that his diaper hadn't caught any of the poop.  Seems as though when I changed him at 2 am I didn't get both chubby cheeks covered with his diaper and when he pooped it came out the side that was exposed...isn't that nice?  Ahh!  His jammies and onesie went in the trash.
