Check out Declan's new table and chairs! Ya-ya and Pop-pop brought it down this weekend and we had a lot of fun putting it together...Declan helped carry every piece, supervised our work and even helped clean up:) He loves getting up in big chairs, but sometimes has trouble getting down, so these are perfect. The table has little shelves under it too, so he can hide, I mean, store stuff in there. He now loves to eat his breakfast of Eggos at his new table, color and of course read his books.

Declan No Sleep
This is our new nick name for our little boo...the boy has decided that sleep is over rated! It all started after Christmas, he used to sleep from 8:30 pm til 7:45 am (which I was very grateful for since it took him 15 months to sleep through the night), but since then he's been waking up around 6:30 am every morning. Well, after a our play date last Friday he fell asleep on the way home, I put him in his bed and he snuggled up for what I thought would be a good nap...nope, 20 minutes later he was up and ready to play! There was no nap to be taken that day! Saturday morning he was up at 6:30 am and even after going swimming would not take a nap. I put him down at regular time and he talked up in his bed for a good 45 minutes, we could hear him starting to get mad so BC went up to get him and found him standing in his crib holding out a stinky diaper!! He's never done that before, but he did a good job not getting anything anywhere:) Sunday morning rolls around and he's up again at 6:30 am, but thankfully after a late breakfast he fell asleep for 3 hours! You'd think this was the end of the story, but no it's not. Sunday night I went in to check on him around 10 pm, he rolled over so sweetly and looked at me and said "mama"...he was up until 1 am!! And yes, Monday morning he was awake at his "normal" time:) Ahh, Monday's 3 hour nap was wonderful! I'll just leave you with this...he was up at 6 am this morning!!

Declan's dr visit
Yesterday Declan had his 18 month check up (although he's already 19 months) with Dr. Champley and everything is great! He's 32 1/2 inches (50%) and weighs 24.7 lbs (50%). The only thing we have to work on is trying to get him to take in some more calcium...the little booger will not drink milk!! He'll eat 2 pieces of string cheese at a time though and he can't get enough of his num-num (yogurt)! No shots, just an iron and lead test. He doesn't have to go back until his 2nd birthday (which is only 5 months away)!

Declan's first swim lesson
Last night was Dec's first swim lesson...didn't go quite how we thought it would! He was by far the loudest one there, too bad yelling wasn't part of what they were teaching! I think only taking an hour long nap had a little something to do with it, but whatever the reason he was not having it:) He normally is a really good kicker and will even say "kick, kick", but not last night. He didn't like it when I showed him how to to get off the side of pool into the water and he really didn't like going across the pool on his back. Made for some good videos though! He did like jumping off the side of the pool after class was over:) Can't wait to see how next week goes! Here he is before we left for our swim lesson:) Swimming with the kickboard (yes, it's backward)!

dr.'s visit
Yesterday I had a quick check up with the doctor...although my weight was down a pound (I have no idea how seeing as though I ate my way through the holidays!), everything else was wonderful! Declan and I got to hear boo 2's heartbeat...healthy and amazing:) We go back next month for another check up and ultrasound!

Drum roll please...
DECLAN'S GOING TO BE A BIG BROTHER!Yep, boo 2 is due to arrive July 4, 2010! We are about 14 weeks along now and have had two ultra sounds which have shown a healthy, growing little baby:) Declan loves to say Mama, Dad dad, Dec dec and baby! We found out in late October and I've had a hard time not telling our families, but we wanted to wait until Christmas. We made a calendar for each family and for July we put this picture along with 3 ultra sound pictures...it took both sets of grandparents a minute to figure it out, but their reactions were unforgettable (we were able to video tape both). Here's a couple pics of them figuring it out.
We are very excited to add a new little one to our family. I will be sure to keep you updated with all the happenings:)
Christmas Eve at the Butler's
We celebrated Christmas on Christmas Eve at my parents (that's Ya-ya and Pop-pop to Declan). For a twist this year my mom, sister Tam and brother Jon made soups for dinner...I actually think we should do it again! I think everyone had way too many gifts, not that I'm complaining, they were all awesome gifts! Declan got a new wooden trike, farm puzzle, race cars, new clothes...the list goes on:) BC got some new work and casual clothes, an Always Sunny in Philadelphia Christmas dvd, and a stocking full of chocolate! I love my new yoga pants, apron (I really wanted one), and I can't wait to use our new Tom-Tom!! Oh, and read my 2 new James Patterson books! It amazes how we are able to squeeze all of us in our little house, but I wouldn't trade it...it's just a good thing we're a close, cozy family! Thank you for everything:)
Eating red and green rice krispie treats:)
4 guys on a couch! Pop-pop, Dec, Jake and Uncle Rob
Christmas at the O'Rourke's
Christmas morning we drove up to Gram and Grandad's for Christmas morning breakfast (eggs benedict). Shortly after we arrived, Kienan (one of BC's brothers) and Emily came in the door with some wonderful news...they're getting married! And Declan is going to be the ring bearer (can you even imagine?)! After breakfast we headed to the living room to open gifts...BC's brother Andy got him a bag/board set (the bad thing is it says Notre Dame on it...boo) and he also got a shop vac and drill set! I love my new Dirt Devil, pj's and Purdue blanket:) Declan got some great books, new bath toys and some new pj's!! It was a wonderful Christmas at the O'Rourke's, but we missed Seamus (the youngest of the boys)...he is Australia living it up until July. Thanks for a great holiday!
Uncle Kienan and soon to be Aunt Emily!Gram's new snuggie from Aunt Kori:) It even says "Gram"!
