CDO

For that past couple of weeks Conall has been enjoying a new view in bebepod chair:)  We think he likes it, don't you?

Oh Declan...

this is too much!  I was getting ready the other morning and all was good, Conall was sitting in his boppy chair smiling and Declan was playing in his room, so I thought...as I walked down the hallway to check on him, this is what I found!
Our determined little guy brought a chair in from his room to Conall's room so that he could get in his crib!  I explained to him that as crafty as this was it was not safe, so he shouldn't do it again:)

Happy Birthaday Dada!

Friday was BC's birthday (the big 3-2) and to celebrate we went to the Notre Dame football game!  He had bought the boys ND shirts, which I let them wear even though they don't have Purdue shirts:)  We got up to South Bend early so we could walk around and watch the team walk through campus.  Of course we had to get our family picture in front of Touch Down Jesus too!  BC was a champ with Declan on his shoulders most of the time and Conall hung out with me in the Moby:)  We had great seats and the boys were so well behaved the whole time.  Declan even cheered for them..."Gooo Irish, Beat Cardinal"!  Declan loved when the band came out, the tubas were his favorite.  The final score was a bummer, but we had an awesome time.  Happy birthday dada, we love you!

The things he does...

makes us laugh!  The other day he took his time lining up all of his farm animals at the fence and when I went to take a picture he turned the farmer around!  Sorry for the no shirt shot, he likes to have his shirt off in the afternoon:)

And he loves to make "trains" with anything that has wheels, or I should say anything because when I got out of the shower this morning he had made a "train" of pillows across our room!

But one of his favorite things is piling up and moving toys from one place to another, in this case dad was the "place"!

On a roll...

So I put Conall down on his back while I went to get the mail and when I came back he was like this!
I was able to get his second "roll" on video, just not the begining because he made it over to his side so quickly!  Earlier this week he rolled from his tummy to his back, but I didn't expect this!

zzzz

This was a rare event in the O'Rourke house...both boys were taking naps at the same time and I was able to get some things done and take a quick rest myself! Such sweet little boos:)

3 months

Yep, it's been 12 weeks since we became a family of four! Can't believe Conall is already 3 months old! He's weighing in at 12 lbs 15 oz this week:) On most nights he gets a good 5 hour stretch, but he's still waking up to eat at least twice (which is fine, Declan was the same way). He's such a happy little guy too! Conall is awake and super alert most of the day, but still enjoys his morning and evening naps. He's a strong one too, moves all around when he's on his back and can hold his head up great on his tummy:) He hasn't quite figured out how to keep his fingers/thumb in his mouth to soothe him, but he's trying. He's outgrown most 3 month clothes and fits pretty well into 6 month clothes. We are loving his smiles and all of the little oohhs and aahhs:) Love, love you boo 2!

Conall is on top:) He's not quite as filled out as Declan was!

2 years + 3 months

Declan B! What can I say, he's an awesome little guy! He still loves to color, play outside and read books. Every night before bed we read the same two books, Bears on Chairs and Tap Tap Bang Bang, he repeats most pages and always knows what comes next. We've recently found Toot Toot Beep Beep, which is a new favorite too. Last night he also picked out Good Night Moon and told me "I do it", which we hear a lot of, and he proceeded to read it himself, pointing out all the things he knew:) He is very independent these day, climbing into his car seat himself, eating with a fork at the table and "writing" his name, along with ours! He narrates everything, which I love, I always know what he's doing because he tells me before or while he's doing it! He's started to drink milk again, but it only Horizon Vanilla milk with a straw...we're just happy he's asking for it! He can't seem to get enough waffles or tortellini anymore! He's just recently began to sing, right now it's Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and the ABC's, he really does a great job:) One of our favorite things that he's doing right now is asking if we're happy, of course we say yes and then ask if he's happy, that's a big yes! Dec is really loving Conall, showing him his toys and giving him kisses. He's turned into a big Purdue fan and when dad says Notre Dame, his reply is PURDUE! He does a great "boiler up"! Sorry dad, but he loves the black and gold! Declan loves Thursdays because we get to go to story time at the library and then we get a pretzel afterwards. He can eat a whole pretzel with cheese by himself, not that we're surprised! Keep growing and learning boo, we love you!

Declan's First Day!

Today was Declan's first day of Mom's Day Out (which we call school, it's just easier and he is learning there too)! We were the first one's there, which gave me a chance to get some pictures:) He was so excited to go (as you can see) and was such a big guy walking into school. We hung up his back pack and found his name tag on the door! He had an apple for each of his teachers, Miss Patty and Miss Chrissy. The only tears today were from me (in the parking lot where no one could see me). He's school lasts from 9am to 2:30 pm, so needless to say I was super excited to pick him up. I was the first one there and was able to sneak a little peek into his classroom...he was standing up singing songs! It was such an awesome thing to watch:) And the smile on his face when they opened the doors and he saw was something I'll never forget! I'm sure I missed him more than he missed me, but I'm so happy he had a great first day. Miss Patty and Miss Chrissy had wonderful things to say about him. He was one of three kids that didn't nap, we didn't think he would, but he was the leader when it came time to pick up and put away! He's such the responsible organizer:) His first drawing is now up on our fridge...don't think I'll take it down until he's in high school! Oh, and he had 2 bowls of ice cream when we got home! We're so proud of our boo for having such an awesome first day of school!

Apple Time!

Picking Apples:)

This morning we went up to a local apple orchard to pick us some apples! Lizzy, Mary and Tessa went too, Declan was so excited to be with his girls again:) Declan took off with our wagon, ready to pick apples! He didn't eat along the way (I did), but did a good job finding the big, red ones. I love that he was trying to pull the girls in the wagon...such the man of the group! Conall got some fresh air while he was wrapped up in the Moby and then fell asleep! Now it's time to bake some apple crisp or crumble or pie...or all of them!

Saturday evening stroll

We took the boys downtown Saturday evening for walk around the canals...there were lots of people out as it was a great night. BC was being the awesome husband/dad that he is and pushed Conall as he carried Declan:)

Ripple Effect

For the second year BC and I participated in the 4 mile run/walk Ripple Effect. BC ran it 34 minutes and the boys and I finished in an hour (what I wanted to do). It was a beautiful night for the run and afterwards we had some great pizza Bazbeaux's! On our way over to dinner we passed the fire station where all the firemen were out with their big truck. Declan was so excited until we got over there and he wouldn't say a word! I think he was in awe at it all:) After some coaxing he did get up in the truck to "drive"!

Labor Day Parade

Saturday morning the boys and I went down town for the Labor Day Parade (BC was at work and met there after). It was a bit chilly and windy so we had to break out a fleece for Declan! We got down there early enough to get Declan a balloon and find a good spot to watch. He of course loved the firetrucks and police motorcycles:) But the best part was picking up candy! After he carefully selected which candy we wanted to pick up, he'd stash it under the stroller. I think he had more fun when dad got there because he let him eat it! Conall slept through most of the parade, but I think he enjoyed it too!

bros

"Good morning brother" is what Declan was saying when I took these pictures:) And watching Handy Manny too!

Picnic at the Canals

Today the boys and I headed downtown to the canals for a picnic lunch:) Declan loves to be outside and enjoyed watching all of the people walking by. Of course he only ate strawberries and pretzels because he was too busy people watching or running around in the grass! Conall did his usual and slept!
