Entertaining

I love that he can entertain himself sometimes! He did this for about 10 minutes today:) He would let out such a funny, throaty laugh when he found himself!

Ready for take off!

I think he's ready for take off! No crawling just yet, but I don't think it will be too long before he'll be ready for his first race! Go Declan go!

Oh, I love my husband!

I met BC almost 6 years ago and have been doing his laundry for almost 5 years now (not that I mind, it's just how we work). So yesterday I was doing laundry and had a load of whites sitting on the bed to put in the washer, but I got busy so they were still there at the end of the day. BC and I gave Declan a bath and got him all ready for bed, I stayed in his room to feed him before putting him down. Normally BC turns off all of the lights upstairs before going downstairs, well when I walked out of Dec's room our bedroom light was on, so as I walked in to turn it off I found my loving husband folding clothes! Something he never does! He had all of the socks and shirts separated and was almost done. I tried really hard not to laugh because it was so sweet of him, but I couldn't hold it in and had to tell him that he had just folded our dirty laundry! He threw his arms up and said "this is why I don't do laundry"! It was such a sweet gesture, but I don't think he'll be touching laundry any time soon:) Oh, BC I love you!

So much snow!

So last night we got hit big time by the snow machine (that's what the news called it)! It started snowing at about 3:00 pm yesterday and by 6:30 pm we had about 4 or so inches. Well this morning we had over 10 inches! BC shoveled off the walkways last night, but you couldn't tell this morning! BC normally carpools to work, but his co-worker called this morning and couldn't get out of her driveway and neither could BC! He got his car out of the garage, but couldn't get out of the alley...I was really thinking he'd get to stay home with us today, but he took my car instead since it has 4WD:(

Children's Museum

Declan and I took our first trip to the Children's Museum today. It was free admission for MLK Day so we stopped by to check it out (not the best day to go...long lines for parking and too many people). We went to the Comic Book Hero exhibit, Dragons Unearthed and Playscape, which was my favorite (they have a really cool water table).

Next time we go I hope it won't be as busy because the Dinosaur exhibit looked really cool and we want dad to go with us too!! Here's Declan with the Silver Surfer from Fantastic Four Rise of the Silver Surfer.

Big guy car seat

Here's Declan in his new "big guy" car seat! He's only been in it a couple of times, but seems to really like it. I think it's been more of a change for us since we have to get him in and out all of the time now, but it beats lugging around him and the carrier!

I'm 7 months old!

7 months old! We just can't believe it! I'm hoping in the next couple of months he'll be able to hold his sign so you can read it instead of tearing it apart.

Dec had to go to the doctor today for his second round of the flu shot and he's a whopping 19lbs 15oz!! He's moving into his "big boy" car seat this weekend (his current one will hold up to 22lbs, but it's getting way too heavy for us to carry). He's just too much fun:)

sippy cup

We've been giving Dec a sippy cup with water for awhile now and he's just starting to figure it out. He actually swallowed some water last night! He really likes being at the table with us in his new highchair, but we're a little nervous that he's going to tip it over!

Are you kidding me?!

Are you kidding me that it is -5 degrees?! Unbelievable.

Just for fun I checked the weather in LA (where we warmly used to live) and it's 76 there! Unbelievable.

I'm not even opening the door to get the mail today.

Oh, and with the windchill it's -22 degrees! Unbelievable.

Bed Head!!

Not a day goes by that Declan doesn't do something to crack us up...this was him this morning while I was trying to feed him applesauce (I say "trying" because he has yet to show much interest in food, in fact the only way he'll let me put food in his mouth is if it's on my finger and that of course leads to him chomping down on my finger!). At least I was able to get a picture of his 2 little teeth:)

Declan has really started to show off his funny side (he gets it from his dad), he loves to lay on the floor and kick his legs really fast as his arms go up down and screech! He cracks himself up! He is also really starting to like his exer-saucer, I think mostly because he gets to stand up:)

Santa's gift

When we got back home from visiting our families Declan got to open his present from Santa...we think he was pretty excited!!

Too many presents!

Here are some pics of Dec opening some presents...he only made it through a couple of presents at each house before falling asleep! Dad and I got to open the rest of his wonderful gifts...thank you to everyone for making his first Christmas a great one!

Cousins!

We had a wonderful and relaxing holiday season visiting both of our families. Declan got to spend some quality time with his cousins too! Here he is with Dalton, Jake, Hannah, Delaney, Kiana and Mckenzie at G/G Butler's on Christmas Eve. On Christmas morning we were at G/G O'Rourke's and had a bit of a problem trying to get a picture with Emmie, Erin and Kylie. Declan and Kylie did a great job while we snapped pictures, but Emmie and Erin wanted nothing to do with it! See below...

Declan even got to visit with his 2nd cousins (he just happened to have the same sweater!) Paul and Isaiah. Isaiah is a new big brother to Olivia...she was born on Monday, December 29! (this was taken the day before at Paul's baptism)
