Oh Boise, Idaho!!

Ahh, so we're back from our Boise trip. We had such an amazing time! I was trying to figure out the best way to tell you all about our trip and decided on telling you day by day, so here goes...we got into Boise late Wednesday night after a great plane ride with Declan, Gma & Gpa Butler picked us up at the airport, they were out there giving a workshop. Thursday morning we headed off for breakfast and walked around downtown. Boise has an awesome downtown, so pedestrian friendly, tons of great local restaurants and shops and mountains all around. We definitely took advantage of the food and shopping! That night we had dinner at our friends the Weber's (they live in Boise).

Friday we went up to Bogus Basin so BC could ski. Declan and I hung out in the lodge. It was a gorgeous drive up the mountain. The Special Olympics World Winter Games were going on, so we got to watch the Alpine Skiing event...it was so humbling to see the proud athletes and their parents.

It was also my mom's birthday...happy birthday mom! Saturday we walked around Boise State University and checked out the famous blue field...it's so blue! It's a beautiful campus that sets right on a river (we saw an eagle!). That afternoon Gma watched Declan while we grabbed some lunch at a local brew pub (BC loves local beer). That night we all went to the BSU/Utah men's basketball game. It was Dec's first game and he had a lot of fun:)

Sunday we all went up to Bogus and went snow tubing. My dad, BC and I went while Gma and Declan stayed inside (it was so windy and cold). BC almost threw up because I asked for the "helicopter spin" a couple of times and he doesn't do well with spinnies! It was so much fun:) That evening BC took me out for a Valentine's Day dinner at a really great restaurant, while Gma & Gpa watched Declan. BC bought me an awesome pair of boots! I love them:) Monday we all went to Sun Valley (about 3 hours away) so that BC and I could both go skiing/snowboarding. It was an absolutely amazing lodge! Gma, Gpa and Declan stayed warm and cozy, while we hit the slopes. The view from the top of the mountain is so beautiful. It looks down on the town of Ketchum and is surrounded by mountains. It was a great to snowboard again, but my thighs were on fire! We had a lot of fun though. Check out Dec's nap:) Before we left we bundled him up and took him outside to sit in the snow.

We said our good byes on Tuesday and left for home. Declan had another great plane ride home (I think he likes vacations as much as we do!). If you ever have a chance to go to Boise take it! We loved everything about it and would definitely love to visit again soon! Thank you to Noel and Lucy Weber for all of their hospitality, we love you.
