Slide!

BC and I finally got around to getting Declan a birthday present (hey, it's still June)! BC picked up his new slide last weekend and Declan is loving it:) If he's not sliding down it, he has it up against the couch and is jumping onto the couch from the top of the slide...I'll have to get a video because it is too funny!

Conall's check up

This morning we had Conall's first official check up! He weighed in at 7 lbs and 8 oz and measured 20 inches long (they said he was 18 1/2 inches when he was born, but we don't think that was right...unless he grew an inch and half in 11 days!). His heart and lungs sound great and he's due back for another check up in a couple of weeks:) This morning was also the first time that I took both the boys anywhere by myself! I'm proud to say we made it to the appointment on time...I was even able to take a quick picture before we left!

One week old!

Well, it's been 7 days since Conall has graced us with his presence! He's been a wonderful baby so far, sleeping great and eating like a champ! So many dirty diapers!! His cord fell off today, which makes me happy...only one more thing to heal:) He's awake and alert a lot more often now, but somehow sleeps through all the noise his big brother makes! Here's Conall and Declan at one week old, do you know which is which?! Conall is on top:)

Big Brother Declan

Declan is being a great big brother to Conall...so far:) He likes for him to have the bear that he got for him and he even gives Conall kisses!

Conall David O'Rourke

Boo 2 is here! Conall arrived Thursday, June 17 at 8:55 am, weighing 7 lbs 4 oz and measuring 18 1/2 inches. I was going to put up a post about our 37+ week appointment, but he beat me to it! After Declan's doctor appointment we went to ours where Dr. Adams did a light check (she didn't want to start anything) and I was just over 5cm. She told me to stay close to home and call if I felt any contractions. So after lunch, Declan and I went to the pool! During dinner that night I felt a few light contractions, but went about our normal night giving Dec a bath, putting him to bed and then BC and watched some tv. Around 10 pm I started feeling them again, but they were about 20 minutes apart so I didn't think to much of them. After going to bed, they picked up and were 10 minutes apart, so after getting up and calling our doctor we were on our way to the hospital! As we were driving BC noticed it was past midnight, so we were safe from having Boo 2 on Dec's birthday:) After getting checked in I got the epidural around 4 am and they started Pitocin around 6 am. Dr. Adams arrived around 8 am and said it wouldn't be too much longer...after 1 set of practice pushes (2 1/2 pushes) and 1 real set (4 pushes) Conall David O'Rourke came screaming into the world! I think we were both surprised that he was a he, but couldn't be happier or more blessed to have 2 healthy boys! We think he looks Declan did, but with a smaller, slimmer face:) We came home Saturday morning and had a pretty good first night...I forgot how hard it is to change little diapers in the middle of the night! This is BC's second Father's Day, but his first with his 2 boys! I will post many more pictures soon!

Happy 2nd Birthday Boo!

"I 2" is what Declan is now saying:) And to celebrate his birthday we went to the doctor! He's 26 lbs and 33 1/2" tall, right where he should be. The doctor said he looks great, but he did have to have a shot...how terrible is that?! I had to laugh though when the nurse tried to give him a sucker, he didn't know what to do with it! After she left he threw it away:) We also went to the pool, which he is loving these days! He really likes the junior pool because when he stands he can play with all the toys and buckets along side the wall. We took a blueberry break today, but had a cupcake when we got home:) We've had an awesome two years with our little guy and are looking forward to so many, many more!! Happy birthday boo, we love you!

These are just some cute pics of Declan and boo 2...he loves to give the baby kisses and even shared his bubbles with the baby yesterday! We got out the little car seat last night and Declan knows that it's for the baby, but he tested it out with his baby first! He calls it Blue Baby, it was actually my nephew Dalton's baby before his little sister arrived:)

Boo's Birthday Party

We celebrated Boo turning 2 on Saturday with a pool party! He's not officially 2 until Wednesday, but he's already saying that he's 2:) It was a very hot, sunny day filled with family, friends and blue cupcakes! This year he actually liked his cake and did an awesome job blowing out his #2 candle. We also had his favorites...fruit and pizza! Thank you to all who came out to sing happy birthday to Declan, it was a wonderful birthday party! Enjoy the pictures:)

dr appt (36+ weeks)

Yesterday we had a great check up...blood pressure is perfect, we gained another 1.5 pounds and are measuring right on track again. Oh, and I'm almost 5 cm dilated and 75% effaced! We just want to make it through this weekend (Declan's birthday party) and next Wednesday (the day he officially turns 2) and then Boo 2 can make a grand entrance!

Tweet feeder

Pop pop brought Declan down a new tweet feeder (bird feeder) last weekend! Declan loves tweets and now he can watch them eat. He and Pop pop put the bird feeder together, filled it up with tweet food and hung it up! Declan likes to look out his window to see if there are any tweets, he gets excited if they are there eating and if there aren't he tells us that they "flew away"!

Dinner at Shula's

Last weekend we went out for dinner with my parents and some friends of theirs to Shula's...I know what you're thinking, "You took an almost 2 year old to Shula's?", but Declan was on his best behavior! He didn't have any steak (dad ate it all), but he did make some new friends with waiters:) Oh, and we saw Jeff Saturday of the Colts!

1st weekend at the pool!

Memorial Day marks the opening of the pool...thank goodness, it was so hot and was just what we needed! We ended up hitting the pool Saturday, Sunday and Monday! We may even go this afternoon:) Declan did a good job walking around with out us and only slipped and fell a few times. He really liked putting his head under the fountains! The video of him going down the slide may be the only we get this summer, for some reason after going down a few times he only wants to climb up and sit at the top and tell the other kids to go! I'm hoping this will pass, if not I'm making him a hat that says "Slide Monitor"! As I was getting some sun on Boo 2 I heard a little girl go "there's a pregnant person here"...so funny, but I'm not the only one sporting a bump at the pool!
